TITLE:                                  Property Manager


CLASSIFICATION:            Administrative Specialist IV


SALARY RANGE:              $29,949.00 - $45,571.00


SUPERVISOR:                     Chief Operations Officer




This is management position that requires knowledge and skills necessary to maintain and oversee the care and maintenance of the Mental Health Authority internal facilities, grounds, and buildings. 




Responsible for the maintenance and care of all Authority facilities, grounds, equipment, vehicles and supplies.


Perform and/or oversee the cleaning of all facilities.


Perform and/or oversee grounds maintenance at all facilities.


Perform and/or oversee maintenance repairs and inspection for all center vehicles.


Perform and/or oversee building repair and maintenance functions for all facilities.


Contact and arrange for local repair persons to perform any major repairs, not able to be performed by staff.


Perform and/or oversee building and grounds improvements.


Set up or move equipment or furnishings as requested for all locations.


Transport supplies, equipment or other items to facilities as requested.


Prepare bids and obtain quotes on projects when required.


Properly dispose of materials as requested.


Work on-call shifts after hours and weekends. 


Complete and/or oversee construction projects as assigned.


Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.




Be back-up for safety and security. 


Considerable knowledge of maintenance in the areas of heating and cooling, plumbing and electricity.

General knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair.


General knowledge in electrical and AC/Heating.


General knowledge in lawn maintenance.


General knowledge of cleaning techniques.


General knowledge in building safety and security.


Skill in painting.


General construction knowledge.


Sufficient physical strength to perform a variety of manual tasks.


Ability to drive and maintain a vehicle.


Ability to listen to and carry out instruction.


Ability to maintain good working relationships with a variety of people.


Ability and willingness to work outside normal work hours when needed.




High school graduate or equivalent with considerable years of experience in the areas of maintenance or construction.  Prefer individual licensed in appropriate areas.


Must have a driver’s license valid in Alabama and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the Authority’s insurance carrier.
